Today my plane for Iceland leaves at Amsterdam Intl. Airport. After some tax-free shopping I walked to gate
C-18 where the Iceland Air Boeing 757-200 was already waiting. The flight was a comfortable one which means there was hardly any turbulence. The traditional question “chicken or beef” for lunch made place for a very good fish meal.
At 15:10 local time (2 hours difference with Amsterdam) flight FL-503 landed at Keflavík Intl. Airport. I believe it’s the prettiest one I’ve ever seen. After going through customs I could immediately lineup for the ATM to get some Icelandic Crowns. You never know when the come in handy. Our travel guides Marieke and Marcel were already waiting and as soon as everyone was there the bus left for the Blue Lagoon.
The Blue Lagoon is a geothermal spa some 40 minutes drive from Reykjavík. After relaxing there for an hour or so we left for our first stay for the night. A backpack facility in Hella.
